Houston, TX- Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) hosts her Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway this holiday season. H.E.B. and North Houston Bank are the proud sponsors of this year’s giveaway. Those who are in need of holiday cheer in a number of area locations will receive a turkey for their Thanksgiving Dinner.

"All over the Houston Area, many go without food during the holiday season," stated Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. "At this time of the year, it gives me a great sense of satisfaction to provide relief to those in need. Indeed it is a special reminder that irrespective of economic background, social class, and ethnicity, there is always something to be thankful for."

"This year over 600 turkeys will be given away to Houston’s most deserving residents. It is through our proud sponsors, H.E.B. and North Houston Bank, that this was made possible. These corporations have greatly served the Houston community for years and without them stepping up and taking the innovative to give back, many people would have gone without food this holiday season," said Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

"During this holiday season, I will be working tirelessly to make sure that no one in the Houston area goes without a meal. This nation has a great reputation of honoring the spirit of giving, and as the United States Representative of the 18th Congressional District of Texas, I  will continue to honor Thanksgiving by providing meals to those who are in most need," concluded congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
